Celebrating Our Fathers....

Tribute to Father

4 years: My Daddy can do anything!

7 years: My Dad knows a lot…a whole lot.

8 years: My father does not know quite everything.

12 years: Oh well, naturally Father does not know that either.

14 years: Oh, Father? He is hopelessly old-fashioned.

21 years: Oh, that man-he is out of date!

25 years: He knows a little bit about it, but not much.

30 years: I must find out what Dad thinks about it.

35 years: Before we decide, we will get Dad's idea first.

50 years: What would Dad have thought about that?

60 years: My Dad knew literally everything!

65 years: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more.

"Honour your father and mother.”

This is the first of the Ten Commandments that ends with a promise.
And this is the promise: If you honor your father and mother, "you will live a long life, full of blessing.”

And now a word to you fathers.

Don't make your children angry by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction approved by the Lord. Ephesians Chapter 6 verses 2 - 4

Fathers are the biggest source of strength for a child. The innocent eyes of a child perceive father as the all-powerful, most knowledge, truly affectionate and the most important person in the family. For daughters, fathers are the first men they adore and fall in love with. While for sons their fathers are the strongest person they know and someone they aspire to emulate. Even for the grownups fathers are someone whom they look up to for the most experienced and honest advice that is always in the best of our interest. For this great figure in our life that we know as father - it becomes our utmost duty to pay our humblest tribute on the occasion of Father's Day.

Say Thanks to Dad on Father's Day

Children blessed with a loving father should consider themselves blessed. For, they have someone to take care of their needs and interests. Someone to stop them when they are diverting to a wrong path and guide them on a road to success and virtue. For many of us fathers have always been there to solve our innumerous mathematics and science problems and explain the same formula hundredth time or better still until it is understood by us. Fathers would never ever give a smallest of hint to let us know how hard they work to take care of our needs and fulfill even the most whimsical of demands... For all their adorable scolding and affectionate punishments we all owe a big thanks to our Dads.

Apologize to Dad on Father's Day

Father's Day also brings with it the wonderful opportunity to apologize for all our rude and insensitive behavior. We as children often take the love and affection of our parents for granted and treat them with outright contempt. We need to apologize. We must feel great to have the presence of loving father in our lives and do not disrespect the blessing of God on us. On Father's Day we must says “Sorry” to our Dad and seek their forgiveness for our wrong behavior.

Celebrate Father's Day with Dad

We must make all efforts to celebrate Father's Day with our Dad. Children staying away from father must especially strive to spend the day with father and show gratitude for all their support and love. It could be going out or indulging him with a gourmet meal. We can also express love with thoughtful gifts. The idea is to show our affection and tell Daddy how much he is loved and appreciated not just on Father's Day but every single day of our lives.

Father's are wonderful by Helen Steiner Rice

Fathers Are Wonderful by Helen Steiner Rice

Father's are wonderful people

Too little understood,

And we do not sing their praises

As often as we should...

For, somehow, Father seems to be

The man who pays the bills,

While Mother binds up little hurts

And nurses all our ills...

And Father struggles daily

To live up to "his image"

As protector and provider

And "hero of the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason

We sometimes get the notion,

That Fathers are not subject

To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,

Where no one else can see

You'll find he's sentimental

And as "soft" as he can be...

But he's so busy every day

In the grueling race of life,

He leaves the sentimental stuff

To his partner and his wife...

But Fathers are just wonderful

In a million different ways,

And they merit loving compliments

And accolades of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires

To fortune and success

Is to make the family proud of him

And to bring them happiness...

And like Our Heavenly Father,

He's a guardian and a guide,

Someone that we can count on

To be always on our side.

Happy Father's Day is celebrated this Sunday 14th June

We celebrate Father's day on June 14th this month.

Our guest speaker for this service will be Ps. Mark Barnard, who is no stranger to us. Ps. Mark ministered in our Church camp last year and we enjoyed a good time fellowshipping with him.

Pentecost Sunday 31st May 2009

This Sunday we celebrate the anniversary of the outpouring of God's precious Holy Spirit upon His waiting, expecting church. Today is PENTECOST SUNDAY! This event marks the historical beginning of the Church!

Pentecost Sunday is the celebration of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Early Church believers. The second chapter of Acts records how the believers, in response to the command of Jesus, had remained in Jerusalem waiting for the power from on high that He had promised. Christ's fulfillment of that promise came 50 days following His resurrection. The believers were baptized in the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, they were also granted the gifts of the Holy Spirit and were filled with tongues. Those gifts helped them to fulfill their mission to preach the Gospel to all nations and experienced the power accompanying the Spirit's outpouring.

We invite you to come join us for our Combined Sunday Celebration Service with Rev. John Ezekiel ,for an exciting time of worship as we celebrate the power of Pentecost at 10.30am, 31st May 2009

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord for a wonderful Sunday Celebration service with DR. Dan Espiritu, from the Phillipines who shared a simple yet profound message on Colossians 2:6....reminding us to walk ,to be rooted , to be built up in Christ and to abound in thanksgiving to the Lord. We also Praise God for the souls that were saved and those that rededicated their lives to the Lord.

We also want to give thanks to the Lord that Uncle Choy was baptized on Sunday in the presence of GTSA members, who came to participate as witnesses and to rejoice with him for his salvation and the step of faith in water baptism.

Not forgetting this coming Sunday Celebration service we have Rev. John Ezekiel who will be ministering God's Word. You will be truly blessed with his ministry.

A Mother's love By Helen Steiner Rice

Do not forget to sign up for the hi tea Ladies... Closing date will be May 3rd. Please make payment to Sis. Suleena and book your seats as soon as possible.

A Mother's love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendoured miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.
